Moodboard of the IMAGE of drum and bass
The conventions of my genre are having very vivid colours throughout, making every part stand out a lot. It is very electronic and in some ways, the visuals are electric, matching that of the music which has very sharp waveforms (drum kit sounds...). It is very clubby and has very clear text to get the message out of the artists, music and the genre, which is very loud.
Low Budget Music Videos
Schmerzkeller - Low Budget Music Video Production
Here, only very simple effects are used. Any effect that might look very cheap should not be used.
In a music video of this genre, a good effect to make it look more expensive is by using a black and white effect and even make it look LESS clear as a video shot by a cheap camera will make the footage, by itself, look quite cheap.
Adding effects that shake the screen will make the video correspond to the music being played.
Unreachable - Low Budget Music Video Production
A key thing is to never use strong, bold text, soften it down by using a misty effect or shake the text slightly.
Trying to keep the place and people you are filming as gloomy and as dark as possible is a very god way of keeping the footage look more expensive as a normal daylight video of people dancing or singing would be very normal and easy to do.
Using a slow motion effect will be good as it makes the video smoother and takes out shakes a lot as any shakes will look like slow, meaningful movements of the camera.

MTV style editing:
Many functions
-Change rapidly, no one element must gain the upper hand.
-Keeps us in the present moment eg. Stop us focusing on the image over the music and the music over the image or the narrative over the star and the star over the narrative.
This has montage editing and some continuity editing.
