My Digipak

I used these colours and layout as the visual impact would be very good. I wanted some panels to go together when folded out and used some shading to create very 3D standing out visuals that make it look interesting. The colours, tones and shapes relate to the genre of music in our music video as there is a lot of strong colours and lines that reflect the strong, plain beats of the music.

Digipak CD Covers

What is a Digipak?

A Digipak is a cover/ packaging made out of cardboard, like a small booklet, which folds out. The CD is usually in the middle.

What makes an effective Digipak?

- Once folded out, images/ designs may match to different panels
- Colourful/ bright or Black and white but contrasting and strong (some sides may join up)
- Sleek design
Pictures of the band/ artis
- Cover art

Long Road Music Video Blogs

What makes these blogs good are the use of relevent images and visual material, however in some of the blogs, there is a lot of text without any sort of visual whatever.
My blog compares to them by having quite a lot of text and having some very good visual material but I believe that my blog has a lot more visuals than some of the others on the Long Road Music Video site but may have no text in some visual posts.

My Blog:

What Went Well:
Good use of photographs
Good amount of video clips
Good use of relevent screnshots
Good relevent research into my genre
Good amount of text to go with the visuals

Even Better If:
Text with every visual
Relate all or most visuals to my music video more
More clips or screenshots of other music videos along with text

Image location research and possible content for our music video

I took these pictures from the top of the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. I thought that this would be a great location to get some shots looking out from "the best viewing gallery in Britain". I took quite a few photographs of the scenery, looking around and thought that these images could go in a slideshow as a background in our music video.
I felt that this would look really good as a still background for part of our music video. I thought that the perspective of looking up at this angle with the gleam of light from the supporting curved beam.

These two pictures I took going into portsmouth, I thought were a relevent scene to our genre and track as they look grey and dull and have grey warships in the background.

These images were of a stormy day looking at the beaches and the sea. I felt that the storm waves would relate to the strong beats that are constantly there in our genre and music track.

I took some photos of a sunset over the Isle of Wight. I thought that these had an amazing colour and range of tones and that they would make the music video come alive even more. I feel these images work very well with our music video as the colours are just right for a club dance piece.

I took these photos as I liked how crystal clear everything looked and I thought, again, it would bring the music video to life (even if it is just on the background).

Faithless

The band Faithless was made in 1995 with their single Salva Mea (Save Me). Jazz acted as a vocalist, whilst Bliss played the piano, violin, saxophone and bass guitar and made most of the electronic music. Pauline Taylor performs most of the lead vocals in the tracks. Their albums reached: 26- Reverence, 10- Sunay 8PM, 4- Outrospective, and 1- No Roots.

Song Change

We have changed our song to The Chemical Brothers: Galvanize. We changed because we did not like the lyrics in the last song and the way the lyrics were sung, were way too far from the sound that would come from your voice and so it would not have looked realistic.
